Press Release Body: The Perfectstroke Golf Academy which is based at Lakelands Golf
Club on the Gold Coast in Queensland is now offering a program in conjunction with
the Robina State High School for students from overseas and Australia who would like
to complete their high school years enrolled in a comprehensive golf program.
Robina State High has a golf program which was established in 1996 and has produced
many successful players who have gone onto professional careers including Amy Yang
and Heiji Kang. Amy Yang won the Australian Ladies Masters in 2006 as an amateur
and while still attending Robina High as a Year 11 student. She has since gone on
to turn professional on the European Ladies Tour and has gained a tour card on the
US LPGA Tour. Heiji Kang completed Year 11 in 2007 and has now turned professional
and is now competing on the Futures Tour in the US after a very successful amateur
career which included winning the Queensland Ladies Amateur twice.
The Robina High School program offers international and domestic students
instruction from a PGA member twice weekly, scheduled practice times during school
and one round of golf during school sport classes as well as classroom instruction
on golf theory. Golf Co-Ordinator at Robina State School Shane Stevenson is very
enthusiastic about the development of this new program. "We have had a great deal of
success with our program since it's inception more than 10 years ago but now we can
offer both our international and domestic students even more. We are going to be
offering a program that is the equal of anything that is available in the US at
places like the San Diego Golf Academy and the International Junior Golf Academy and
at a more attractive cost. Our main market is obviously going to be from the Asian
area but I am sure that students from the United States and South America would be
interested in training and learning here in Australia." Stevenson said.
The Perfectstroke Golf Academy provides the instruction of students through a PGA
member at Robina High School at their specially dedicated golf practice areas on
site at the school. Currently PGA member Mark Officer and owner of the Perfectstroke
Golf Academy is delivering the program at Robina High. "We are planning to offer an
all in one program that many of our overseas students have to try to organize for
themselves at the moment. We have a lot of Asian school age students who are
currently living in Australia and they come out here because of the good reputation
of the golf instructors and because the weather is so good year round. They find
themselves a coach, somewhere to practice and play which can be difficult, then they
need to look at schooling and somewhere to live. We aim to provide all of these
answers including arranging suitable homestay and transport so that the kids are in
the best possible environment to improve." Officer stated. The Perfectstroke Golf
Academy High School Golf Program will be in addition to the current program and will
include membership at Lakelands Golf Club as well as golf instruction at Lakelands.
Two individual golf lessons are scheduled each week as well as group training and
golf fitness sessions utilising products from the Perfectstroke website which
include training with the Leaderboard golf training aid as used by Adam Scott,
Stuart Appleby and US Open winner Geoff Ogilvy.
Participants in the Perfectstroke High School Program will be able to practice
before and after school with transport provided to and from school.
Membership of the Jack Nicklaus designed Lakelands Golf Club is included in the
program and this gives students unlimited play everyday, entry to all club events
and championships, handicap management as well as unlimited range balls and access
to the clubs private short game practice areas.
Students can attend from three months up to one year and enrolments can be accepted
at the beginning of each school term. Homestay can be arranged through Robina State
High School and is not included in the program costs as students may make their own
living arrangements.
The cost of enrollment in the one year program is AU$26,000, half year or two term
program cost is $13,000. Domestic students can request the cost of program on
application. Enrolments are now being accepted for students in the Perfectroke Golf
Academy High School Program for the start of Term Three which commences 14th July
2008.
Enquiries can be made by sending an email to info@perfectstroke.org or by filling
